Payroll ruleset customisation

Within payroll there is award interpretation that allows you to apply certain work types or customisations. In this guide we will be covering how to set up a custom tag and ruleset.

Create a new tag

Managed Payroll > Payroll Settings >Pay Conditions >Tags

+ Add - enter in the name and description(optional).

E.g. > 8 Hour Rule

Use this tag for employees whose regular shifts are greater than 8 hours.

Unlocking the award

Before you can begin setting up the custom ruleset. You may need to unlock your award(s)

 

Create custom ruleset

Managed Payroll > Payroll Settings >Pay Conditions >Rule Sets

Each award will have different employment type rulesets. If this is shift rule is applicable for both permanent and casual employees you will need to set this up. 

 

Please hover over the rulesets and click EDIT RULES to see the current rules within that award - employment type.

 

Rulesets can be cloned (duplicated), edited and disabled. To set up the customisation we will need to duplicate the rule, edit it and disable the system award rule. 

Top right hand corner - Clone this rule.

 
 

It will create a copy of the ruleset. Click on Edit and it will allow you to make changes. 

Children's Services Award 2010 [MA000120] - Permanent

Custom line for - Maximum Daily Engagement - Copy

 
 

Custom line for - Exceeding 10 hours Per Shift with Work Type - Full Time - Copy

Remember to click Save to apply the changes to the rulesets. Next disable the system default rules.

The rulesets for Children's Services Award - Permanent should look like the following below:

 

Educational Services (Teachers) Award [MA000077] - Permanent (Long Day Care)

Custom line for - A.1.3 Maximum Daily Hours - Copy

 

Custom line for - A.1.4 Maximum Daily Hours (10hr shift arrangement) - Copy
